The Role
As a Construction Manager, you will take charge of delivering construction projects at our clients' airports, overseeing critical areas such as Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE), risk management, cost, schedule, and quality. You will collaborate closely with Capital Delivery colleagues and stakeholders, serving as the primary point of contact for all MAG Framework Contractors. Airport experience would be ideal, highways/pavement experience will also be considered. This position will be predominantly days but some night work may be involved. This position falls Outside IR35.
Key Responsibilities
1. On-Site Supervision: Oversee MAG capital projects to ensure the safe, secure, and high-quality execution of construction activities.
2. Testing Coordination: Manage and undertake Cause & Effect testing requirements and witness testing as outlined in Project Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
3. Strategic Development: Contribute to the creation of construction operations and logistics strategies for all capital projects.
4. CSR Monitoring: Define and monitor the construction delivery components of project Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) plans.
5. Delivery Partner Management: Assist in selecting and managing delivery partners, ensuring alignment with business goals, standardization, and value optimization.
6. Delivery Strategies: Develop approaches to meet operational needs, mitigate disruption risks, and protect the business from commercial impacts.
7. Gateway Support: Collaborate with the Capital Delivery team to ensure constructability, quality, efficiency, and logistics are addressed during project gateway reviews.
8. Stakeholder Collaboration: Support Contracts and Procurement teams in selecting delivery partners capable of ensuring safe and sustainable outcomes.
9. Pre-Construction Review: Evaluate MAG Pre-Construction Information to ensure adequacy for the project's scale and help Project Managers prepare robust HSE hazard documentation.
10. Progress Representation: Represent MAG at site progress meetings, maintaining a focus on HSE, quality, and overall performance.
11. Defect Management: Identify and notify contractors of defects, issue defect certificates, and track resolutions.
12. Site Monitoring: Conduct regular site visits, providing reports to Project Managers for documentation and oversight.
HSE-Specific Responsibilities
1. Ensure Pre-Construction Information is comprehensive and includes historical H&S file data from asset records.
2. Verify the completeness of Designers' Risk Registers and contribute to Design Risk Meetings.
3. Review and approve Construction Phase Plans for adequacy.
4. Maintain a register of F10 notifications and monitor their validity.
5. Oversee the Safe Start process, ensuring construction phases comply with all requirements.
6. Perform site inspections using the Site Companion App, focusing on Site Engagement Reports.
7. Report observations, incidents, and hazards through the MAG CAMMS system.
8. Validate H&S File Part 1 for accuracy and completeness, coordinating the PA3 process with Asset stakeholders.
9. Lead construction site incident investigations to ensure thorough root cause analysis and corrective actions are implemented.
In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring MAG projects are delivered efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards of quality, while upholding operational and stakeholder requirements.
