We are looking for a compassionate and professional self-employed School Counsellor to join our dedicated pastoral team at Redmaids’ High. Our School is a selective girls’ school with a long tradition of high academic standards within a friendly and supportive community.
With student well-being at the heart of our community, this role offers an exciting opportunity to support and guide students in a confidential and professional capacity. This role requires a commitment of one day per week (Tuesday or Friday, term-time only), with an agreed hourly/daily rate. You will work closely with our existing counselling team and pastoral staff to provide essential support to students.

Please download and complete the self-employed person application form and send it to Ms Melissa Stimson, Assistant Head Pastoral at recruitment@redmaidshigh.co.uk with ‘Application for School Counsellor’ in the subject line of your email. Additionally, a covering letter of no more than two sides, addressed to Ms Stimson, should accompany application forms.
Closing date: 9:00am on Monday 24 February 2025.
Interview date: Friday 28 February 2025.
The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers, the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and online searches. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. The School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions on a self-declaration form in advance of attending an interview (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
