37 hours per week – full time (working all year round).
The Marvell College is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated person to join a busy Finance team. If you have experience in accounts payable and/or school administration but would like to further develop in Finance, we can offer you an opportunity.
We are looking for someone who can work as part of a team, but who also has the ability to work independently using their own initiative. The ideal candidate will have proven office experience with accounting knowledge, strong interpersonal and organisational skills, experience with accounting systems and record keeping, and competent ICT skills with the use of Excel spreadsheets, along with numeracy and literacy skills. They will join a team of committed, caring, and enthusiastic staff who share the college philosophy that all students should have the opportunity to achieve. The college is committed to appointing high quality staff and supports their development. Training and support will be provided.
As Finance Officer, you will be required to operate, maintain, and develop the Trust accounting procedures and systems, ensuring financial management is compliant with trust procedures and best value. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the purchase ledger, raising orders for goods and services, ensuring invoices are appropriately authorised, obtaining quotes, making bookings/reservations for school trips, and managing the school online cashless payment system. You will support the Finance Manager with expenses, overtime, and reconciling school purchase cards.
