Ward 5A is a plastics, ENT, and female surgery ward. It is a 30-bedded ward with 3 specialities, offering a wide range of skills to learn. You will work as part of the wider multidisciplinary team caring for patients pre and post-surgery, as well as patients with complex wound management and ENT procedures. The role requires working days, nights, weekdays, weekends, and bank holidays.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care needs of patients from admission (or before) to discharge, with the involvement of patients and their relatives/carers.
2. Ensure a high standard of nursing care is performed at all times and assist in the review and regular update of these standards in accordance with the NMC code of professional conduct and trust policies.
3. Participate within a team of nurses and support workers in providing continuity of patient care, ensuring patients' physical, social, and psychological needs are met.
4. Participate in internal shift rotation to provide 24-hour patient care.
5. Communicate effectively and work in partnership with patients, nursing colleagues, the Multidisciplinary Team, and all other relevant personnel.
6. Carry out clinical procedures and treatments in line with the patient’s plan of care.
