We are looking to recruit passionate Support Workers to join our dedicated team based in the Old Brampton area of Chesterfield. We have positions available from 20 hours up to 37.5 hours.
About Us
Our service is a supported living home for four adults all with various needs. As a Support Worker, you will be providing practical support within the home and out in the community. Your days will vary from helping maintain their home through household tasks, budgeting and managing finances, supporting with food preparation in line with SALT guidelines, intimate personal care, monitoring healthcare needs, supporting with medication and health appointments, being the person's advocate, and supporting to pursue their hobbies, interests, and maintain contact with their friends.
Requirements
The role of a Support Worker can be challenging at times, so it is essential to have a positive mind-set with a desire to improve the lives of those with a physical and learning disability. You will need to be quick-thinking and have a positive can-do attitude.
As a Support Worker you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will enormously contribute to the people we support, living a more comfortable, dignified, liberated, and happy life.
Rota and Shift Patterns
Our shifts are on a four-week rolling rota which includes early starts, late finishes, weekends, and public holidays. Our shift patterns are 7am to 10am, 10am to 3pm, 3pm to 9pm, 3pm to 10pm, and sleep-ins. Flexibility is required due to the nature of the service and the support needs.
Due to the location of the service, there is very limited public transport; the nearest bus stop is a 10-minute walk away, so please bear this in mind when applying for the position.
We pay £11.44 per hour. You will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £62.45 for any sleep-in shifts carried out. The payment for sleep-ins is non-contractual.
