Job Opportunity: Civil Enforcement Officer - Temporary Contract
Position: Civil Enforcement Officer
Contract Duration: ASAP - 4 Month Contract, With the possibility of an extension.
Working Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 09:00 AM - 05:00 PM
Pay Rate: £14.00 per hour (PAYE)
Location: AL3 5EB
Role Overview:
* Patrol streets and car parks.
* Check parking meters and car park equipment.
* Report defective signs and road markings.
* Check parking tickets and issue Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs)
* Advise the public on parking regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
To ensure markings and signs of restrictions are of an adequate standard to ensure effective enforcement, recording, and reporting defects as appropriate.
To maintain accurate records of enforcement action take
To deal with members of the public politely, firmly, and fairly.
Always wear the approved uniform on duty and maintain a smart appearance.
To operate on a rota system as allocated by the Parking Services Manager.
To use office technology as requested.
To advise the public about inquiries concerning parking matters.
Ensure that Corporate and Departmental Health and Safety policies are implemented at all times and raise any concerns regarding their operation, or any other Health and Safety matters, with the appropriate line manager.
To carry out other duties as appropriate to the grading of the post as required by management.
To carry out all duties and responsibilities by the Council's corporate procedures on Equal Opportunities and Customer Care.
To carry out camera enforcement duties of contraventions using approved CCTV equipment.Skills and Requirements:
City and Guilds Level 2 Award for Parking Enforcement Officers (or equivalent)
Knowledge of current Road Traffic Legislation in respect of parking.
The ability to remain polite with members of the public whilst firmly enforcing waiting and loading regulations and enforcement of permitted parking places.
Good communication skills both written and oral.
Understanding of and a commitment to Customer Care.
Able to operate a portable computer.
Able to work as a member of a team.
Able to work on own initiative.
Knowledge or willingness to work in an enforcement role.
