The Post:
National Services Directorate (NSD) plans, funds and co-ordinates national specialist and screening services, national clinical, diagnostic and justice networks and national planning on behalf of NHS Boards and the Scottish Government. It facilitates service change across NHS Scotland to ensure consistent, equitable provision of high quality, safe, effective, person-centred services to meet the needs of the population of Scotland.
NSD currently has an exciting opportunity for a Programme Support Officer with planning and project management skills to join its Directorate. The post holder will provide comprehensive programme support to a diverse range of national programmes, including, but not limited to, service improvement programmes for Sexual Assault Response Coordination Services (SARCS) and healthcare delivery in prisons.

The ability to provide professional programme support within complex programme environments?
Experience of project planning, with strong administrative and organisational skills?
A focus on quality and attention to detail when working to tight deadlines?
Effective communication, interpersonal and team working skills?
The ability to work as part of a team and having a clear understanding of the importance of stakeholder relationships?
The ability to work on your own initiative, be proactive, manage and prioritise a busy work schedule, displaying attention to detail?
We are looking to appoint a candidate who can demonstrate the above criteria.
You should be a highly motivated individual who has excellent organisational, IT and communication skills, able to work to deadlines and prioritise a busy workload. The post-holder will be required to provide a high level of support to the NSD Programme Team, Senior Managers, Healthcare Professionals and wider stakeholders across the Public and Third Sector.
Location and Working Pattern:
Office bases are Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Delta House, Glasgow.
Monday to Friday 29.6 hours per week
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
