About the Programme
This four-year graduate scheme is designed to give you hands-on experience, professional development, and a pathway towards Chartered Engineer status with IChemE.
Year One: Permitting Team
* Assess permit applications for industrial activities and draft environmental permits that ensure high operational standards and environmental protection.
* Start with straightforward applications to build your understanding of the assessment process before tackling more complex applications that require your process engineering knowledge, such as air dispersion modelling.
Year Two: Regulatory Team (Yorkshire or West Midlands)
* Work alongside experienced Regulatory Officers to conduct site visits, ensuring industries comply with their environmental permits.
* Provide expert advice to businesses looking to change operations and support investigations when legal obligations aren t met.
* Gain hands-on regulatory experience and make a real difference in protecting the environment.
After the first two years you will on projects which will broaden your experience and prepare you for chartership and a longer term career within the organisation while developing your skillset.

Who Can Apply?
We re looking for motivated and passionate graduates who want to use their skills to drive positive change. To be eligible, you must:
* Have achieved an MEng in Chemical Engineering or BEng in Chemical Engineering from an IChemE-accredited course in the last two years (or be graduating by September).
* Have strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data.
* Be organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Enjoy working with people from a range of backgrounds and be open to new ideas and perspectives.
An environmental background is beneficial but not essential, and while a driving licence is desirable, it s not a requirement.
