Description
As a Resource Planning Manager, you will lead the Resource Planning teams, responsible for scheduling and intraday management of meter installations, investigations, debt management visits, and emergency jobs. You will manage a team of planners (scheduling assistants) and real-time analysts, led by team leaders, to ensure the effective resource allocation for 80-140 field engineers.

What We Need from Yü
Here’s a taste of what you’ll be doing:
* Oversee and develop a high-performing team of planners and real-time analysts, ensuring seamless scheduling and real-time adjustments.
* Coach and support team leaders to drive operational excellence and the achievement of operational goals and SLA’s by setting measurable goals and holding regular team meetings and 1-to-1’s.
* Promote a culture of engagement, ownership, innovation and motivation within the team.
* Ensure the team is trained, multiskilled, and processes are aligned with the planning/real-time skills requirements and address individual needs as required.
* Understand and take ownership to meet business objectives and be accountable for key decisions.
* Plan and optimise field engineer schedules for a range of services, including meter installations, investigations, revenue protection, enforcement, and emergencies.
* Collaborate with Field Managers, Compliance teams and other key stakeholders to understand future demand, adherence to industry standards and health and safety requirements, and to resolve operational challenges and enhance service delivery.
* Development of strategies for balancing resources with demand to maximising efficiency.
* Support and guide the effective engineer requirement based on capacity demands.
* Analyse trends, scheduling performance metrics, including job completion rates, productivity, and service quality to support the long-term forecast requirements.
* Coordinate with third-party providers to meet customer and operational demands.
* Own and refine existing reporting and relevant data production processes.
* Able to work and led with multiple requests/projects simultaneously and complete each task accurately and efficiently engaging with all relevant teams to achieve desired outcome.
* To take responsibility for maintaining an appropriate level of knowledge and seeking assistance from your line manager and/or colleagues where required.

* Proven experience in resource planning, scheduling, or workforce management in a field-based environment.
* Strong leadership skills, with experience in managing and developing back-office teams.
* Advance knowledge of scheduling tools: experience with Salesforce Field Services significant advantage.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on operational efficiency.
* Effective communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders and resolve conflicts.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment and prioritise demands.

Relevant Qualifications / Experience:
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* IT literate.
* Exceptional organisational skills particularly in time and diary management.
Desirable:
* Experience of the Utilities industry would be beneficial but is not essential.
