About the Role
Our client, a top 20 accountancy practice based in St Albans, is looking for an experienced and motivated Audit Supervisor to join their team. You'll work directly with partners and directors, leading a tight-knit group of professionals to deliver high-quality audit and advisory services. This role is ideal for someone ready to take the next step in their career, combining technical expertise with leadership responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Audit Leadership: Plan, supervise, and execute end-to-end audits across various industries, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.
2. Team Development: Set objectives for junior staff, review their work, and provide on-the-job coaching to support their growth.
3. Client Interaction: Build strong relationships with clients, liaising at senior levels and identifying opportunities for added value.
4. Technical Expertise: Prepare statutory accounts, consolidated accounts, and corporation tax computations with support from specialists.
5. Innovation & Efficiency: Suggest improvements to current processes and ensure seamless audit delivery.
6. Practice Development: Attend client events, identify business opportunities, and contribute to proposal pitches.
What We're Looking For
1. Qualifications: ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent.
2. Experience:
1. Proven ability to lead audit teams, including group audits.
2. Recent experience with audits of £20m+ turnover companies.
3. Strong grasp of UK GAAP, auditing standards, and both substantive and controls-based audits.
3. Skills:
1. Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
2. Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
3. Personable, confident, and adept at building client trust.
4. Motivation: A drive to grow professionally and support the development of others.
