We are looking for highly motivated and experienced physiotherapist with a minimum of 3 years postgraduate experience to lead on the paediatric physiotherapy haemophilia service. This post gives an excellent opportunity to gain experience in working as part of a specialised integrated multi-disciplinary team delivering out-patient care.Services are delivered for children with haemophilia aged 0-16 years living in the local area, in outpatient clinics across all University Hospitals Dorset Trust sites.We work closely with the network of professionals delivering haemophilia care and are a spoke site affiliated with Hampshire Hospitals NHS Trust as the hub site. We are committed to delivering high quality services for the children and families. We work with in a child friendly manner.Applicants must be able to travel across sites. Base Location: Poole Hospital Interview Date: TBC Main duties of the job To lead and be responsible for managing the paediatric haemophilia physiotherapy service and caseload of patients for the catchment population providing a high standard of advanced therapy assessment, treatment and advice to patients who may have a complex presentation.To plan and manage episodes of care, working in partnership with Paediatric Haemophilia Consultant and other specialists, to optimise health outcomes, as well as providing direct support to patients and carers.To take a leadership role in the assessment and treatment of patients within the speciality, and to maintain records as an autonomous practitioner. To provide skilled clinical leadership and monitor standards of practice, implementing policy and policy changes in own clinical area, informed by current best practice and evidence-base, in accordance with the Poole Approach, ensuring patients receive sustainable, high quality, safe, effective care.To take a lead role in the supervision and teaching of Therapists and MDT Staff across the Southern Haemophilia network with regards to therapy practice for children with haemophiliaTo work across all UHD sites.To undertake quality improvement projects to further team and departmental clinical practice and service development, making recommendations as required. Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria HCPC registration Physiotherapist BSC(Hons) or MSc in PhysiotherapyPost Graduate Courses both paediatric specific and relevant to the clinical specialty Desirable criteria Recognised post-graduate qualification e.g. MSc or equivalent experience Knowledge Essential criteria Knowledge and experience of Haemophilia pathophysiology and complete patient management Experience Essential criteria 3 years minimum experience in paediatric MSK/ orthopaedicsMultidisciplinary team working in an NHS settingStudent supervision/clinical education Desirable criteria Experience of using research methodologyExperience of operational team managementLeading on managing change
