Introduction Our client work across the UK, providing Consulting Services to commercial and public sector building design projects. They are looking for a Senior Consultant with experience providing regulatory and safety advice for clients, as well as experience leading a small team. This role is hybrid with 1-2 days per week in the local office, 2-3 days per week from home and typically 1 day per week on client site (they try to keep you to local projects where possible) Key responsibilities Provide Building Regulation and Safety advice to clients across commercial and public sector clients. Review building plans, fill in compliance trackers and make observations. Work with the Designers (either from within the business or another supplier) on queries from the building plans to ensure designs are compliant. Some visits to the sites for compliance audits and site inspections. Ensure that teams are fulfilling their responsibilities under the Building Regulations 2010 and the Building Safety Act 2022. Review building regulations compliance in design and develop solutions in line with legislation and best practice. Review building regulation submission packages and lead gap analysis review. Identify any missing information required to secure building regulation approval. Some opportunities to deliver internal and external building regulation compliance. Lead a small team and provide technical leadership to clients. Skills & experience Strong background of applying building regulations to commercial and public sector projects (very limited work on HRBs). A good understanding of the technical and functional requirements of the Building Regulations 2010. Competence working on a range of building types and uses and ideally a Class 2/3 Building Inspector. Experience of PAS45001 and other integrated management systems. Experience in a Principal Designer position would be ideal. Professional chartership/accreditation with CABE, CIOB or RCIS. Demonstrable understanding of construction and design.
