We are recruiting for experienced and enthusiastic electricians to join our Housing Repairs and Maintenance Team.

Do you want to focus on your trade and not sourcing materials, writing quotes, or chasing customers for payment? Do you have a full driver's licence? Do you have a City and Guilds level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Installations?

About the role
You will carry out high-standard electrical upgrades and testing both in our residents’ homes and in communal areas, delivering high customer service and meeting all safety, quality, and cost control standards.
You will mainly be working in occupied properties within the Brighton and Hove area either on your own or in a small team. The key tasks will be:
* Upgrading electrical installations in both communal and domestic settings to ensure they meet the requirements of the Wiring Regulations.
* Testing electrical installations in both communal and domestic settings producing certification as necessary (including EIC's, EICRs etc.).
* Detecting, locating, and diagnosing faults.
* Rewiring circuits or full installations as necessary.
* Working with asbestos (you will be fully trained and equipped to work on non-notifiable non-licensed asbestos).
* Installing full smoke detection and gateway systems.
* Producing Smoke Detection certification.

* A standard working week of 37 hours per week plus 5.5 hours of contracted overtime (Monday – Friday 08.00 – 17.00). Part-time hours are available.

Additional information
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is term-time only. For part-time applicants, where your working week is less than the council’s basic 37-hour week, contracted overtime rated pay will not form part of your working hours. This is because overtime rated pay is payable for hours worked in excess of the council’s basic 37-hour week. Your starting salary will be pro rata based on the basic annual salary elements of pay between £32,076 & £36,648.
