What will you be doing?
Managing and deploying our team of Historic Characters (alongside and through our team managers).
Overseeing the delivery of Living History at the Museum, ensuring events and programmes are engaging, inclusive and accessible for all audiences.
Developing and implementing quality standards, processes and training that ensure high standards of customer service and engagement of Historic Characters.
Developing processes and systems that support efficient and effective management, training and continuous improvement of the Living History Team.
Working closely with our Public Programmes and Collections & Interpretation teams to create engaging, educational and entertaining live historical interpretations.
Working with our Audience & Communications team to ensure integrated and well-coordinated marketing.
What are we looking for?
1. Considerable experience of managing, inspiring and developing a large team.
2. Experience managing large-scale operations, including effective staff rostering, visitor experience and safety.
3. Experience of engaging visitors with stories, living history or dramatic interpretation in a historic context.
4. Ability to organise and prioritise workload to meet multiple demands and deadlines and improve systems for maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
5. Excellent project and budget management skills.
6. Ability to work collaboratively across teams with excellent interpersonal skills.
