Christmas is a very special time of year at Chatsworth and you can be part of it by joining us as a Visitor Experience Team Member, providing visitors with a warm and engaging welcome and the information they need to ensure they experience the very best of Chatsworth at Christmas. You will be integral to the enjoyment of our visitors, bringing the experience of Christmas at Chatsworth and its history alive as you proactively help safeguard the security of the house, our visitors and the collection. Your role will be varied and will also include, processing bookings, promoting guidebooks, Gift Aid, and tours as well as answering customer queries. In this diverse role you will spend long periods in the garden, the gate and the entrance to the house and the car park. To succeed, you must enjoy engaging with members of the public, and working as part of a team. As Christmas is a very busy period, you will need to have excellent communication skills and be an approachable person who is able to relate to visitors from all backgrounds and tailor your approach accordingly. You will enjoy variety and be comfortable working outdoors during all weathers be adaptable to switch tasks at short notice. We have the following shift patterns available: Wednesday to Saturday (minimum 16 hours) Sunday to Tuesday (minimum 12 hours) Monday to Wednesday (minimum 12 hours) Thursday to Saturday (minimum 12 hours) These are fixed-term roles, working from the end of October 2024 through to 5th January 2024 when our season ends. For each role, the hours worked will be between 8:30am and 8:30pm. However, the need for flexibility and additional hours is essential, as all roles will involve late finishes due to the busy Christmas season and extended operating hours, plus some special events.
