Following this we are delighted to be opening a new Community Diagnostic Centre in Redruth in early 2025, and we are actively recruiting now to build a passionate and dedicated team to, ready to support this nationwide programme to enhance the availability of diagnostic Radiography in the community, while enhancing your own career. Right now, we are looking to recruit a Senior Radiographer. This roll will be cross sectional working across MRI, CT and X-ray. This role is aimed to specialise in Xray
Main duties of the job
As a Senior Radiographer you will be responsible for ensuring our patients receive the best standard of care while generating high-quality images to support their healthcare pathway. You will deliver an effective and professional service, working alongside your colleagues in a dynamic and fast paced environment Carry out modality specific imaging procedures to the best practise standards of Radiographic Techniques. Providing a great experience for patients attending their diagnostic procedure, supporting them through the process from referral to resultsRunning quality assurance checks on equipment and action as appropriateRespecting and working within patient's and service users' customs, values and spiritual beliefs, making sure their views are sought and taken into accountPerforming triage functions of referrals, as requiredSupporting patient bookings and making sure patient information systems are maintained with accurate and up-to-date informationCompleting competency assessmentsAdhering to all operational procedures Maintaining a clean and safe working environmentWorking as a practise educator, assisting placement students and colleagues in the achievement of their learning outcomes and development in the department. Sharing knowledge and clinical experience with the wider team to support each others growth and development.

The role of Senior Radiographer will be adaptable; working across MRI, CT and X-ray. This role is aimed to specialise in Xray but experience in other modalities would be advantageous

What you will do:
1. As a Senior Radiographer you will be responsible for ensuring our patients receive the best standard of care while generating high-quality images to support their healthcare pathway. You will deliver an effective and professional service, working alongside your colleagues in a dynamic and fast paced environment
2. Carry out modality specific imaging procedures to the best practice standards of Radiographic Techniques.
What you are responsible for:
3. Providing a great experience for patients attending their diagnostic procedure, supporting them through the process from referral to results
4. Running quality assurance checks on equipment and action as appropriate
5. Respecting and working within patient's and service users' customs, values and spiritual beliefs, making sure their views are sought and taken into account
6. Performing triage functions of referrals, as required
7. Supporting patient bookings and making sure patient information systems are maintained with accurate and up-to-date information
8. Completing competency assessments
9. Adhering to all operational procedures
10. Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
11. Working as a practice educator, assisting placement students and colleagues in the achievement of their learning outcomes and development in the department.
12. Sharing knowledge and clinical experience with the wider team to support each others growth and development.
We are looking for someone who has:
13. BSc Radiography or equivalent
14. Membership of an appropriate professional body and holds a valid registration ( HCPC)
15. A strong understanding of fundamental MRI and CT physics and different scanning techniques and sequences
16. A proven knowledge of the requirements of a radiographers role regarding the care of patients, their careers and other colleagues
17. A high level of professionalism and technical standard of work
18. Aptitude towards improving quality
19. The ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
20. Understanding of the implications of the Data Protection Act, Caldicott Principles and GDPR
21. A flexible approach to work and able to work across 7 days (Mon-Sun)
22. A strong team player attitude, being supportive, caring, reliable and trustworthy
23. The ability to be calm when working under pressure and in a busy environment
24. A positive attitude, taking pride in their work and is passionate about the service they provide.
You should apply if you have experience:
25. Working with MRI and CT equipment in either a hospital or mobile setting
26. In both routine and complex MRI and CT examinations
27. In different courses such as infection control training, manual handling, basic life support
28. Scanning with contrast
29. In health and safety policies and procedures with imaging equipment
30. Working in a multi-disciplinary team
31. Supporting other members of the team their development and training.
