Position: Assistant Product Developer
We are seeking an Assistant Product Developer to join our growing apparel department, supporting the team in achieving its objectives at every level.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in product development to ensure products are commercially viable and align with the range for wholesale and DTC customers.
* Support the development of the range plan.
* Collaborate across departments.
* Liaise and negotiate with suppliers to meet cost, margin, and pricing requirements.
* Conduct ongoing material, fabric, and trend research; present findings internally and to clients.
* Communicate directly with factories/suppliers during product development and visit them as needed.
* Assist with initial costings and collaborate with finance on RRP and final pricing.
* Address product-related queries across departments.
Sample Management:
* Monitor sampling costs and track budgets.
* Prepare showroom samples and ensure timely arrival of all samples.
* Manage prototypes and sales samples, tracking deliveries.
Trade Shows:
* Support administrative and logistical aspects of annual trade shows.
* Report to the Design & Product Manager to align with the company vision.
Market Research:
* Conduct physical and online shopping for competitive analysis.
* Perform category reviews and generate new product ideas.
* Visit exhibitions and trade shows as required.
Analysis:
* Use category reviews to inform product development decisions.
* Travel nationally and internationally as needed.
Candidate Requirements:
* Open to graduates and entry-level candidates, ideally with one year of internship experience and a passion for fashion and career development.
* Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator is required.
* Strong team player with initiative.
* Own transportation is necessary due to limited public transport options.
