IT Specialist
About the job:
We are seeking an IT Specialist to provide support and analysis on activities and projects and collaborate effectively on IT projects. This role will be suited to an IT generalist with salesforce administration experience and an interest to engage in data analysis.

We have installed over 5,500 systems and currently manage over 19,000 installations across mainland UK 63MWp capacity), primarily on behalf of Portfolio Investors, Councils and Housing Associations. What you’ll do:
Main Responsibilities:
Data Integrity
* Ensure data is accurate, consistent, and up-to-date across multiple systems and platforms.
* Implement processes to detect, correct, and prevent data integrity issues in various data sources (databases, data lakes, etc.).
Data Cleansing
* Perform data cleansing activities to remove duplicates, correct errors, and standardize data.
* Develop and execute data cleaning processes to handle missing, outdated, or inaccurate data. Create and manage data validation rules to ensure data is consistently formatted and accurate.
Data Manipulation
* Use SOQL and SQL, Python, and other tools to manipulate data, transform it into usable formats, and prepare it for analysis and reporting. Develop scripts for automating data transformations and cleansing tasks. Support data integration and migration efforts to ensure the integrity of the data during movement between systems.
Best practice
* Stay current on data quality best practices and tools to continuously improve data integrity and cleansing strategies.
Data monitoring and improvement
* Develop records management processes and policies. Identify and evaluate areas to increase efficiency and automation of processes.
Arranging Hardware and Software
* Install software and providing instructions for users on using that software;
* Create an adequate supply of IT-related stock for a business, such as cables, routers, adapters and any other equipment necessary for the functioning of their systems.
Salesforce administration
* System Configuration & Maintenance: Manage and configure standard and custom Salesforce objects, fields, page layouts, record types, workflows, validation rules, flows, and process builder automations to streamline business operations.
* User Management: Handle user setup, roles, profiles, permissions, public groups, and license management; maintain data access and security standards in alignment with company policies.
* Data Integrity & Quality: Oversee data imports, exports, deduplication, and cleansing activities to ensure high data accuracy and integrity across all Salesforce records.
* Platform Enhancements: Partner with stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements; propose and implement scalable solutions aligned with organizational goals and Salesforce best practices.
* Reporting & Dashboards: Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to support business intelligence needs and empower teams with actionable insights.
* Training & Support: Provide training, documentation, and support to end users; promote Salesforce adoption and ensure consistent usage across departments.
* Release Management: Manage the change control process for new releases and system updates, including sandbox testing, deployment planning, and impact assessments.
Other duties
* The post holder may be required to undertake other reasonable adhoc duties as appropriate and requested by their Line Manager.
What you’ll need:
Skills and experience
IT Experience
* IT qualification or relevant experience is desirable
* Proven experience with Python, SQL and desirably SOQL. Familiarity with a base set of libraries (Pandas, Numpy, Scikit-learn etc)
* Experience with Apex or Java
* A strong broad generalist background in working with computers and dealing with large amounts of information.
Database and systems experience
* Other valuable experience includes familiarity with database systems and data entry techniques (e.g. Salesforce, Sales cloud, Field service and/or Marketing cloud). Salesforce experience is essential.
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, proficiency with Excel
* Knowledge of data modelling, data cleansing, and data enrichment techniques
* The capacity to develop and document procedures and workflows
* The ability to carry out data quality control, validation and linkage
* An understanding of data protection issues

Location: Head Office Gloucester. Potential for hybrid.
Hours: Fulltime, Monday to Friday.
Salary: £33,000 - £37,000 per annum with yearly increases for staff
