What you’ll do ; Financial Reporting & Analysis Oversee the preparation of accurate financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring compliance with IFRS (or other relevant accounting standards). Conduct variance analysis and provide detailed commentary on financial performance for the CFO and leadership team. Deliver financial forecasts and support the CFO in preparing budgets and long-term financial models. Support the CFO in preparing financial reports for the board and external stakeholders. Financial Systems & Processes Ensure financial systems and processes are scalable and efficient to support growth to £100M revenue. Lead process improvements and automation initiatives within the finance function. Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data, implementing robust internal controls. Collaborate with the IT team to optimize ERP and other financial software. Compliance & Risk Management Maintain full compliance with local and international tax laws, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements. Lead the preparation of statutory accounts and manage relationships with external auditors, ensuring a clean audit process. Mitigate financial risks, including currency fluctuations, tax exposure, and regulatory changes, and report key risks to the CFO. Ensure compliance with travel industry financial regulations, such as ABTA and ABTOT requirements. Strategic Support Partner with the CFO to provide financial insights that guide strategic initiatives, including market expansion, acquisitions, and operational investments. Monitor and improve financial KPIs to ensure alignment with company objectives. Provide ad hoc financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. Team Development & Leadership Manage, mentor, and develop the finance operations team. Set clear objectives, monitor performance, and provide regular feedback to the team. Foster a collaborative and high-performing culture within the finance department. Ensure the team is equipped with the skills and knowledge to meet current and future business needs. What you’ll bring; Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. ACCA, ACA, CIMA, ICAEW or equivalent qualification. Essential Experience: Proven experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar senior finance role within a fast-growing business, ideally scaling revenues of £50M. Track record in financial reporting, compliance, and risk management in a multi-entity or international business environment. Expertise in implementing and optimizing financial systems and processes to support growth. Experience managing audits and statutory reporting, with a clean audit track record. Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems and financial tools, with experience in automation and process optimization. Advanced Excel skills and strong data analysis capabilities. Familiarity with international tax regulations, including VAT and corporate tax in multiple jurisdictions. Analytical and detail-oriented, with excellent problem-solving skills. Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, with a focus on collaboration and accountability. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging with senior leadership and non-finance stakeholders. Not essential, it would be a bonus if you have; Experience in the travel, tourism, or hospitality sector. Knowledge of industry-specific financial regulations (e.g., ABTA, ABTOT, TOMS VAT).
