Contract; this is a full-time permanent contract working Monday to Friday with hybrid working options and a salary of £30,000 per annum What will I be doing as an Assistant Planning Manager? Reporting into the Planning Manager you will support in the delivery of all train planning activities associated with the development of Grand Central timetables and supporting resource plans. Liaise with Network Rail and other operators in preparation of timetable bids in line with the requirements of the Network Code and to meet business objectives (including commercial, operational and performance criteria) Support the validation of offers received for both LTP and STP as required and maintain industry timescales for availability of amended timetable information in downstream systems at T-12. Support the LTP and STP timetable development processes in line with agreed industry timescales and standards. Produce all new/amended train schedules and resource plans required to deliver the agreed timetable strategy ensuring compliance with the applicable rules and laid down timescales. Administer an effective internal communication process to ensure that all internal stakeholders are fully consulted regarding forthcoming changes to GC timetable and resource plans. Support in the transition between plan and delivery to ensure that all arrangements needed for successful delivery on the day are in place. Support the Planning Manager as required, including the completion of relevant project work. What will I need to be successful as an Assistant Planning Manager? Knowledge of timetabling techniques, route geography and capacity, train crew manning agreements, and unit and train crew diagramming procedures General business experience with exposure to planning methods and commercial pressures Strong geographical understanding of Grand Central core and diversionary routes, as well as maintenance and stabling facilities. High degree of computer literacy, with experience in use of relevant industry systems (e.g. VoyagerPlan, TRUST etc.).
