Who You Are You are a proficient and experienced social worker with excellent communication skills in English. You are capable of managing complex caseloads and influencing others to coordinate services effectively. You have a deep understanding of child development and the impact of various social issues on children and families. You are adept in using the Signs of Safety practice model and applying social work theories in diverse and challenging contexts. You possess a relevant social work qualification, are registered with the appropriate professional regulator, and have strong IT skills. You are collaborative, open, and respectful, experienced in statutory child protection, and can maintain confidentiality as required by law. What the Job Involves As a Social Worker with Bexley Children's Services, you will build supportive relationships with families to ensure the safety and well-being of children in need of protection. You will work within a practice environment to assess risks and needs, implementing plans that support children's growth in safe homes. The role involves regular visits, using creative methods to engage with children, conducting holistic assessments, and managing cases within the Referral & Assessment Team. You will utilize existing family networks and professional support to enhance children's welfare, review and update children's plans, and liaise with other agencies. You will also contribute to learning and development, participate in supervision sessions, and comply with the Council's policies. The position is maternity cover until late January 2025, requiring experience in referral and assessment work.
