Job overview
We are recruiting for Band 2 support workers to work in the Radiology/Imaging Department in the purpose-built hospital on the Royal Sussex County Hospital site. We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Imaging Clinical support workers to join our dynamic and friendly team in the Radiology Department.
The successful candidates will be working alongside radiographers and radiologists to ensure the smooth running of the department. You must have the ability to work with patients for sensitive imaging examinations.
Main duties of the job
* Assisting radiographers in the preparation of patients and equipment for imaging examinations.
* Ensuring pre-examination checks and information are available.
* Liaising with wards and porters, assisting with patient transfers and the orientation of patients around the department.
* Performing caring activities for the patients ensuring patients' needs and privacy and dignity are met.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
* Actively participate as a member of the Imaging Department team.
* Assist radiographers with patient flow, preparing and positioning equipment.
* Work with in-patients and out-patients requiring imaging examinations.
* Ensure provision of the highest standards of care.
* Perform administrative and clerical duties across the department as required.
* Work 37.5 hours, to include some evenings and weekends.
Person specification
Qualifications
* Good standard of general education to include Maths and English GCSE at grades 4 and above or equivalent.
* The post holder should hold or be willing to complete the Care Certificate level 2.
Skills
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Interest/experience in healthcare.
* Examples of teamwork and organisational skills.
