Description Your Apprenticeship Development Plan will start at a training facility offsite where you will be trained in the basic core fundamentals and skills required for the chosen apprenticeship. In years 2 through 4 you will gain your initial understanding of our business processes - taking part in all aspects of work carried out within various NOV facilities moving throughout different departments. Starting in the repair and machining workshops, you will see the lifecycle of our products right through to the completion and shipping of repaired and refurbished drilling equipment ready to be used in extreme offshore conditions. Your hands-on academic training plan is where learning and development really begins. You will take part in a 4 year training plan where both training facility offsite and NOV will monitor your progress, supporting and guiding you to become a successful and first class Electrical Service Engineer. Year One: You will spend all year working towards your hands-on SVQ Level 2 (SCQF5) Qualification offsite. Your SVQ Level 2 will create the foundations for progression - understanding general fundamental engineering processes and requirements. Year Two, Three and Four: You will be onsite at various NOV facilities where you will join the NOV teams and use their knowledge to further your development - you will gain first-hand exposure in our various machine and fitting workshops and you will develop an understanding of our procedures, policies and values. Assuming you achieve a minimum of SVQ level 2 and SVQ level 3 and an HNC Electrical Engineering during the first 2 years, you will therefore achieve your Modern Apprenticeship certification and graduate as a Trainee NOV Electrical Service Engineer. Self-Development - Committed to self-improvement and development throughout the Apprenticeship and onto a career within NOV. QUALIFICATIONS: English Standard Grade 5 NAT or above (essential). Maths Standard Grade 5 NAT or above (essential). Science Standard Grade 5 NAT or above (essential). Higher Maths plus 1 from Physics, Engineering Science or Technological Studies (desirable). EXPERIENCE: Working Environment Experience (desirable). SKILLS, TRAINING AND SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE: Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook) (essential).
