About the Role:
We are looking for a Residential Property Litigator to join our Dispute Resolution team. In this role, you will manage a varied caseload of contentious residential property matters, taking ownership of cases from initial instruction through to resolution. You will work as part of the Property disputes resolution team with support from senior lawyers and trainee solicitors.
Your work will include:
* Landlord & Tenant Disputes – Advising landlords and tenants on long leasehold disputes, service charge disagreements, and tenancy issues.
* Possession & Eviction Proceedings – Handling claims under the Housing Act 1988, drafting s21 and s8 notices, and representing clients in court.
* Breach of Lease & Contract Disputes – Managing cases involving unpaid rent, unauthorised alterations, breach of user, or other lease breaches.
* Boundary & Adverse Possession Disputes – Advising clients on land ownership issues, right-of-way conflicts, and adverse possession claims.
* Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) – Engaging in mediation, arbitration, and negotiations to resolve disputes outside of court where possible.
* Litigation & Court Representation – Drafting pleadings, preparing cases for trial, and where appropriate representing clients in court and tribunals.
* Compliance & Regulatory Matters – Ensuring clients meet landlord-tenant regulations.
You will also play a key role in developing and maintaining strong client relationships by providing practical, commercially focused advice and ensuring a solutions-driven approach to dispute resolution.
What We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking a confident and proactive solicitor who:
* Has in excess of 2 years experience in property litigation or dispute resolution.
* Demonstrates strong technical knowledge and the ability to handle a variety of residential property disputes.
* Possesses excellent drafting skills, including correspondence, pleadings, and witness statements.
* Is commercially astute, with a focus on delivering practical and cost-effective solutions .
* Has exceptional client care skills, with the ability to build trust and communicate effectively with clients from all backgrounds.
* Works well independently and collaboratively within a dynamic team.
