We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with an attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work to tight timescales. The candidate must also be a great team player and have exceptionally strong interpersonal and communication skills.
The successful candidate will work closely with the QA Manager to develop QA Services, providing and maintaining a safe, efficient pharmaceutical service to wards and departments across the Trust.

Main duties of the job
1. Support the QA Manager in building, developing and monitoring the quality systems applicable to the pharmacy service with a particular focus on those relating to Manufacturing and Wholesale Dealing.
2. Review and approve quality documentation and systems including change management, GMP / GDP deviations, recalls, complaints, and product defects.
3. As a releasing officer, be responsible for the approval or rejection of raw materials, intermediates, hospital manufactured, commercial products, and packaging materials, and to keep appropriate records, including maintaining electronic records for aseptic services.
4. Ensure adherence to the PQS through appropriate training and motivation of Pharmacy and QA staff.
5. Ensure continuing adherence to the requirements of PQS, GMP and GDP through regular internal inspections and report compliance via the Pharmacy Governance.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
1. Support the QA Manager in building, developing and monitoring the quality systems applicable to the pharmacy service with a particular focus on those relating to Manufacturing, Wholesale Dealing, and other registerable activity.
2. Liaise with the Quality Manager, Responsible Person, and License Holder to ensure that all wholesale dealing activity is compliant with the MHRA Wholesale Dealers License including management and development of the associated Quality System.
3. Review and approve quality documentation and systems including change management, GMP / GDP deviations, recalls, complaints, product defects.
4. Undertake and support the preparation of SOPs.
5. Support the Quality Manager and Principal Pharmacy Technician (Procurement, Distribution & Electronic Stock Management) in training other members of the team and implementing training programmes where required.
6. Participate in internal quality audits (Production Unit and Stores and distribution) and external audits as required.
7. Approve master worksheets, which relate to or might impinge upon licensable activities.
8. As a releasing officer, be responsible for the approval or rejection of raw materials, intermediates, hospital manufactured, commercial products, and packaging materials and to keep appropriate records, including maintaining electronic records.
9. Help develop and support the process for unlicensed medicines.
10. Support and where indicated lead investigations into deviations in quality processes.
11. Contribute to external inspection requirements relating to GMP and GDP e.g. MHRA, CQC, GPhC.
12. Ensure appropriate escalation of all risks and outstanding corrective and preventative actions.
13. Maintain relevant records, ensuring accurate data input into all computerised systems.
14. Support the operation of an electronic document management system across the department.
15. Collect, interpret and present quality management data and statistics for use in monitoring the quality management system.
16. Support the development and application of the QMS to all areas of the pharmacy including the dispensary and clinical pharmacy services working in association with Senior Pharmacy technicians and pharmacists.
