Senior Structural Façade Engineer
Location: Bristol (3 days/week in-office)
Salary: £55k - £60k
Alexander Associates are working with an industry-leading, independent engineering design and advisory consultancy to recruit a Senior Structural Façade Engineer for their expanding Bristol office.
This is a standout opportunity for an experienced façade specialist to take a lead role in the design and delivery of high-performance building envelopes across iconic and technically challenging projects—while contributing to the growth of a vibrant regional team.

The successful candidate will:
1. Lead the structural design and coordination of façade systems across a wide range of projects
2. Collaborate closely with architects, clients, and internal engineering teams to deliver elegant, buildable, and cost-effective solutions
3. Oversee materials selection, performance assessments, and integration with primary structures
4. Contribute to project planning, resource management, and client-facing responsibilities
5. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of technical standards and best practices within the façade team
Requirements
1. Extensive experience in structural façade engineering, ideally including curtain walling, cladding, and bespoke system design
2. Strong knowledge of materials and structural behaviour, including glass, aluminium, steel, and composite systems
3. Familiarity with relevant design codes and standards (e.g., CWCT, Eurocodes, BS EN)
4. Proficiency in design software such as Revit, Rhino, and FEM tools
5. Strong communication and leadership skills, with a proactive, design-focused mindset
6. Degree in Structural or Façade Engineering (or closely related discipline)
7. Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK
