We have an excellent opportunity within our friendly department for an enthusiastic and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our Vaccination & Immunisation Service.
If you have the ability to work using your own initiative, have good communication skills, a high level of accuracy, and are keen to develop your skills, this is the job for you!
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
* Advises practice on cold-chain and governance procedures
* Analysing patient prescribing data, using the audit tools available, and discuss the results with prescribers.
* By observation and audit, ensure robust repeat prescribing systems are in place and implemented. Assist in training of staff laid down by documented protocols.
* Provide support to the Locality Lead Medicines Management in practice medicines management meetings.
* Support Medicines Management developments in the locality, being the first point of contact, e.g., in relation to fridge failures.
* Obtaining drug, therapeutic, and pharmaceutical information.
* Provide training for new staff members and local hospital pre-registration pharmacy students, including competency sign-off.
* Responsible for the vaccine rooms within the local vaccination centres, ensuring cold-chain governance and compliance.
