We are currently looking for a skilled and ambitious Electrical Design Engineer to join a growing, family owned business based in Ponteland.
The Electrical Design Engineer will receive a salary up to £50,000 DOE.
The Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing AC electrical systems and components for various projects. The Electrical Design Engineer will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with a focus on high power LV/MCC, industrial control panels and busbar systems, complete with a good understanding of industry standards and best practices. The role requires excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities of the Electrical Design Engineer:
Design and develop LV electrical systems for Electric Vehicle Charging applications, ensuring compliance with project requirements, safety regulations, and applicable standards, specifically BS EN 61439.
Create electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications using computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant tools, including EPLAN, SolidEdge Etc.
Select appropriate components, equipment and materials for AC power systems, considering factors such as efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to evaluate the viability and potential challenges of proposed electrical designs.
Oversee the manufacture and testing of AC electrical systems, troubleshooting any issues that arise and ensuring compliance with design specifications.
Conduct thorough documentation of electrical designs, including technical reports, operation manuals, and maintenance procedures.
Stay up to date with industry advancements, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes relevant to AC power systems, and apply this knowledge to enhance design practices.
Qualifications:
Educated to HND/HNC or Degree
Efficient in use of Eplan - Essential
Minimum of 2 years' electrical engineering design experience in a relevant discipline
Familiarity with relevant industry standards such as IEEE, IEC, and BS EN 61349, and the ability to ensure compliance with these standards in design activities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex electrical engineering issues.
