About the role
The Research Fellow will assist in designing, conducting, and interpreting large-scale clinical trials and systematic reviews with an overall goal of developing evidence-based recommendations that will improve the health of millions of women and men, both in the UK and more broadly.
Multiple Long-Term Conditions (a.k.a. Multimorbidity) or the coexistence of two or more health conditions in an individual has been overlooked as an important cause of early death and disability
One of our aims of is to determine whether treatment of specific diseases is affected by the presence of other diseases in multimorbid condition clusters and to conduct efficient clinical trials to test potential preventive and therapeutic interventions for men and women with multiple, long-term conditions.
What you would be doing
* Design clinical trials within the field of multimorbidity.
* Conduct individual research, analysing detailed large-scale clinical trial data.
* Communicate research findings in the form of scientific publications, policy reports, conferences, or public meetings.
* Contribute to the BRC multimorbidity theme activities and meetings.
* Coordinate with other BRC thematic collaborators across Imperial College London.
* Share responsibility for shaping the research group's plans and the writing of group-funding applications for new research projects.
What we are looking for
* Ideally you should have medical background or experience in dealing with multiple-long term conditions (including, cardiology, general practice/internal medicine, nephrology, endocrinology, neurology).
* The position is also applicable to candidates without a medical background who have adequate training in clinical epidemiology, or biostatistics related to clinical trials.
* PhD degree (including clinical epidemiology, public health, statistics, data science and others) or equivalent research, industrial or commercial experience in clinical trials.
* You should have experience of analysing large-scale clinical trials, administrative databases or routinely collected health-related datasets.
* Knowledge of research methods and statistical procedures
* Practical experience within a research and clinical trial environment and / or publications in relevant and refereed journals

As a Member of the Innovative Clinical Trials Hub, at The George Institute UK you will join The School of Public Health, led by Professor Neil Ferguson, which comprises three departments and two units with strengths in research and teaching in epidemiology, public health, biostatistics, primary care, social aspects of health and health interventions in human populations
Hybrid working may be considered for this role. Staff working in roles that are suitable for hybrid working will normally be expected to work 60% of their time onsite. The opportunity for hybrid working will be discussed at interview.
