Job overview
A 2-year fixed term rotational training post to learn and put into practice the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to become a registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
Within own work area, assist and support the implementation of the strategic plans of the Partnership organisations and the provision of flexible, efficient integrated pharmacy care and medicines optimisation services.
To rotate through pharmacy services delivered by the organisations of the partnership, including South Central Ambulance Service NHS Trust (SCAS) and University Hospital Southampton (UHS) NHS Trust.
Main duties of the job
To successfully complete the Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians to enable registration with the GPhC. The post holder’s progress will be monitored and supported by an Educational Supervisor.
To undertake, on a rotational basis across the SCAS and UHS Hospital sites, a wide range of duties including dispensing, medicines supply, procurement, stock control, and medicines management.
All duties carried out by the Integrated Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician will be under direct supervision and operating within Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To undertake the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians Qualification and attend college virtually as well as workplace training.
Competence will be assessed through the completion of a portfolio of evidence and knowledge through marked assignments.

* Minimum 4 GCSEs grades C/4 and above, including English, Maths and Science.
Knowledge and Skills
* Basic keyboard/computer skills.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
