EPR and Digital Transformation Communications Lead - Band 8a-NHS
Location: Romford, Essex
Working Schedule: 3 days a week onsite, 37 hrs a week
Rate: 285 p/d Inside IR35/Umbrella
Contract Duration: ASAP - 3 months
This role is focused on developing our communications and engagement strategy for both internal and external audiences around our digital transformation programme, particularly the launch of our new electronic patient record (EPR) in June 2025.
SKILLS:
1. Ability to produce well-designed communication materials using various software packages, including Publisher, Photoshop, InDesign, Canva, and equivalents.
2. Understanding of research and insight to develop effective behaviour change campaigns.
3. Budget management skills.
4. Masters degree or equivalent experience/qualification.
5. Project management skills.
6. Ability to provide sound judgement and give professional advice and support to colleagues at all levels.
7. Ability to communicate sensitive issues.
8. Confidence in dealing with senior colleagues.
9. Ability to write clearly for a range of diverse audiences and channels.
10. Ability to work to tight deadlines.
11. Excellent office skills including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
12. Ability to digest and communicate complex and sensitive information clearly.
13. High attention to detail including adherence to style guidelines and proofing work under time pressure.
14. Ability to effectively evaluate the impact of communications activity.
15. Experience delivering an EPR or other large-scale transformation programme.
16. Significant communications and engagement experience.
17. Line management experience.
18. Experience in issues management.
19. Experience of leading on issues, often under considerable time pressure, anticipating, analysing, and prioritising, ensuring that communication materials are prepared and colleagues briefed.
20. Experience of effective staff engagement work and internal communications including evaluation.
21. Experience managing digital communication campaigns informed by analytics and including evaluation.
22. Knowledge of the communications production process (print, broadcast, digital) and experience of commissioning and managing external contractors such as designers and photographers.
23. Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methodology.
24. Knowledge and experience of social media and digital communication channels including strategy development and implementation.
Nice to have:
1. Public relations or related degree.
2. CIPR, CAM, CIM, or NCTJ qualification.
3. Professional training in public relations, communications, marketing, or journalism.
