About Rowlands Gill Primary School
RowlandsGill Primary School is a vibrant and inclusive primary school located in a beautiful, quiet village setting. As a state-of-the-art, purpose-built school, we pride ourselves on providing a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can thrive. The well-being of our pupils and staff is a key priority, and we go the extra mile to ensure that everyone feels happy and safe here. We are proud of our excellent reputation as a caring and successful school.
Our school was judged as ‘Good’ following our most recent Ofsted inspection in June 2023. Historically, our school had been through some turbulence, but our stable leadership, in place since 2019, has ensured the transformation and ongoing success of the school.
Our school currently has 202 wonderful, happy, and polite pupils who are eager to learn. Supported by a hardworking and dedicated team, we offer a wide range of activities, including theme days, Forest School, sports teams, and a variety of after-school clubs. With wrap-around care from 7:30am to 6:00pm, we are committed to supporting our families and being an integral part of the local community.
We operate as a single-form entry school, providing a broad and balanced curriculum to ensure all pupils within our care develop a love of learning and can make progress, no matter their background or special educational need. We have a school nursery on-site, as well as a private pre-school nursery. We also have a ten-place KS2 ARMS unit in our school, catering for children from across Gateshead who have significant additional needs. Pupils in our ARMS unit are taught in their class on a morning and are then integrated into their mainstream year group class on an afternoon and are fully included in all aspects of school life.
