Community, mental health and learning disabilities services will soon transfer to Hampshire & Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Partnering with Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust. Based at the heart of the Island, with 266 beds and handling around 27,000 admissions each year, St Marys Hospital in Newport is our main base for delivering acute services for the Islands population. Services include the Emergency Department (A&E), the Urgent Treatment Centre by referral only, Emergency medicine and surgery, planned surgery, intensive care, comprehensive maternity, Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) and paediatric services with 986 births last year. What you can add: Assessing and monitoring patient conditions and arranging diagnostic tests Recognising deterioration in the physical or mental condition of a patient and taking appropriate action / escalation Recognising, responding to, and managing emergency situations Displaying excellent analytical ability and sound decision making in changing clinical situations Recognising limitations and escalating concerns. The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above. What youll need: A car and valid UK driving license A minimum of 6 months paid experience in a community environment within the last 2 years Comply with NMC Professional Registration and keep up to date with current nursing practices Depending on the Trust, you may require variable additional certification and skills.
