Band 6 Static Physiotherapist - Respiratory
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Physiotherapist to join the Urgent Care Therapy Team in Yeovil District Hospital. You'll join an experienced team involving Physiotherapists and Rehabilitation Assistants and be competent to provide Physiotherapeutic management for patients in Acute Respiratory & Surgical wards and the Intensive Care Unit. You'll be supported in your own professional development with supervision and training as well as encouraged to actively participate in the development of others.
Main duties of the job
This post requires a graduate level state-registered physiotherapist with relevant clinical experience.
* Provide a specialised and up to date physiotherapy service on rotations through Acute Respiratory, Surgery and Intensive Care.
* Participate with a Band 7 Clinical Specialist for one day per week to provide Respiratory Outpatient services and inpatient follow-up clinics as part of the Acute Respiratory rotation.
* Participate in delivery of Therapy Services across 7 days including Respiratory On-Call or twilight service duties as the service requires.
* Play an active role in the development and training of Rotational Band 6 and Band 5 Physiotherapists, Rehabilitation Assistants and students.
* Provide clinical support, guidance and supervision for Band 5 staff, students and Rehabilitation Assistants working within the Team.
* Aid the Team Leads in the planning, coordinating, delivery and evaluation of the Urgent Care Therapy Team Service.
* Deputise when necessary, on behalf of the Team lead on both clinical issues and managerial duties within the Team.
* Have a broad understanding of physiotherapy specialities and of wider departmental/professional issues.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Diploma/degree in Physiotherapy
* HCPC Registration
* Evidence of CPD maintained in a portfolio including attendance at recent postgraduate courses
* Post graduate accredited course in rehabilitation/relevant post graduate courses
* Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
* Membership of relevant CSP special interest group
Experience
* Experience of a wide range of clinical rehabilitation areas in an acute setting
* Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Evidence of participation in a Respiratory on call or twilight service
* Experience of service development and evaluation
* Completed a variety of rotations and acquired core skills relevant to the post (ICU, Respiratory, Surgical)
* Proven post graduate experience with extensive clinical experience relevant to this post.
* Knowledge of clinical governance
