An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic person to work as part of the Support Services/Facilities Team at CAMHS North Stoke Roundwell Street Tunstall Stoke-on-Trent ST6 5JJ.
Band 2 - £23,615 per annum pro rata, part time.
This post is 10 hours, Monday to Friday, to provide domestic cleaning services at CAMHS North Stoke.
You will be primarily based at CAMHS North Stoke Monday to Friday but will be required to be flexible and work in other premises to provide domestic services across the Trust premises to cover annual leave and sick leave as required.
Support Services Assistants within the Facilities Team provide a professional in-house specialist cleaning service.

Main duties of the job
As a Support Service Domestic Assistant, you will be expected to maintain a clean and hygienic environment for patients, visitors, and staff in line with the National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness. You will be responsible on a day-to-day basis to provide a full domestic cleaning service to patient areas, offices, and departments in accordance with work schedules, policies and procedures. You will work as part of a team to provide cover for each other during annual leave, sickness, and absence.
Job responsibilities
1. Communication
* To communicate on a daily basis with patients, staff, visitors, general public and report problems to the Facilities Supervisors, Department / Service Lead.
* To be friendly, courteous and helpful to clients, visitors, staff and the general public, challenging discrimination, promoting equality.
* To ensure that patients, their relatives and carers are treated with dignity and respect.
1. Analytical and Judgemental Skills/ Freedom to Act
* To follow established procedures and schedule of work.
* To seek advice from Facilities Supervisors or Department / Service Lead as necessary.
* To comply with the requirements of Food Hygiene, Health & Safety legislation and the Trust’s Food Safety policy as necessary.
* To be responsible for the cleaning provision to client areas and offices with the premise in accordance with work schedules and activity within the area.
* To comply with the National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness, Health & Safety legislation and COSHH regulations and Trust policies as applicable to the job.
2. Planning and Organisational Skills
* To have a responsibility for liaising with Facilities Supervisors, Department / Service Lead to organise work.
3. Physical Skills
* To ensure that the general cleaning in the premise is undertaken in accordance with the agreed work schedule.
* To ensure that domestic, clinical, and mixed recycling waste is correctly bagged and placed in the appropriate disposal areas in accordance with services within the premise.
* To ensure that all stocks are stored correctly.
* To be responsible for the cleanliness of the kitchen and serving area, including crockery, cutlery, kitchen utensils and food trolley in accordance with services within the premise.
* Ensure all areas are clean and tidy, particularly prior to and following meal times as necessary.
* To carry out specialist cleaning procedures in response to any infection control outbreak; new builds; refurbishments.
4. Policy and Service Responsibilities
* Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team reporting any problems to the Facilities Supervisors; Department / Service Lead.
5. Responsibility for Financial and Physical Resources
* To use the Trust NHS Logistics online ordering system for domestic / facilities products.
* Maintain stock control on own area, ensuring stock delivered to premise is put away.
* Have responsibility for the use and security of cleaning materials and equipment.
* To ensure all equipment is used, cleaned and stored safely and defects or faults are reported immediately to the Facilities Supervisor, Department / Service Lead for further action.
6. Responsibility for Staff
* To support induction of new starters, bank and agency staff in on-job training.
7. Responsibility for Information
* To keep regular time sheets for own working hours.
* To maintain appropriate stock levels.
* To report issues and incidents to Facilities Supervisor, Department / Service Lead.
* To have a responsibility to request annual leave via the online system.
8. Research and Development
* To take part in staff surveys as required.
* Have responsibility to try out any new equipment as requested.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* GCSE level numeracy / literacy or can demonstrate the same.
* Able to demonstrate basic Health & Safety / COSHH Training.
Experience
* Experience of prioritising own workload.
* Some experience of working within healthcare service.
* Some previous cleaning experience in healthcare service.
* Some previous cleaning experience.
Skills and Knowledge
* Ability to adhere to standards.
* Willingness and ability to learn and develop skills relevant to the post.
* Basic IT skills and use of network systems.
* Previous knowledge of use cleaning / catering equipment.
