This is an exciting opportunity to augment our existing multi-professional stroke workforce and help us achieve excellence in the care of our stroke patients across the Acute and Community services. The successful candidate will work alongside the Stroke Medical and Nurse Consultant on the ward, as well as offering clinical expertise and leadership in the community setting to support seamless, high-quality care throughout the Stroke pathway.
Main duties of the job
* The post holder will be a HCPC registered AHP holding a master’s degree relevant to the role and demonstrate consultant level knowledge, skills, and behaviours
* They will act as a champion and role model of values-based professional practice and personalisation throughout the stroke pathway, across organisational boundaries
* They will collaborate across stakeholder groups and organisations, establishing peer reviews and learning and development systems, to develop the stroke workforce of the future
* They will be an AHP lead for research and contribute to the knowledge base of stroke rehabilitation through comprehensive research, innovation, and inquiry
* They will influence and implement system learning, developing an education network to support AHPs understanding of evidence-based stroke rehabilitation
* They will share expertise, supporting the wider multi-professional team, including Acute and Primary care and Community Services
Person specification
Previous Experience
* Significant post-graduate experience including work at senior level in a Neurological specialist field.
* Significant experience of working within multi-disciplinary teams, driving quality improvement
* Relevant validated clinical courses
* Project Management Skills
Qualifications
* Master’s degree relevant to role
* Diploma/degree in AHP Profession
* HCPC registration
* Extensive specialist experience and significant advanced level practice in the management of Stroke conditions.
* Evidence of significant participation in research and facilitation of education.
* Published in peer-reviewed conference or journal.
* Working towards PHD

* Excellent knowledge within own professional area of policies and procedures

* Excellent written communication skills in order to produce complex documentation that may be presented to tribunals or internally at Board level
* Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
* Membership of an associated specialist interest group
* Completed self-assessment tool of The Centre for Advancing Practice
* Non-medical prescribing (independent prescriber) or excellent working knowledge base of medicines management in stroke.
