Role Overview
The purpose of our Field Service Engineers is to ensure that all service and repairs are completed on time and where possible on the first call to achieve customer satisfaction and to meet contractual agreements. Our Junior Field Service Engineers will join the business in our Compliance Team, learning our machines through supporting with PA Testing our equipment. We then would seek to train our Junior Engineers on all aspects of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering to enable them to develop into confident Service Engineers who are comfortable in diagnosing and repairing faults on industrial cleaning machines.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
* Provide quality support to our customers through courteous and knowledgeable communication.
* Carry out contracted planned preventative maintenance – PA Testing, minor repairs, and maintaining a wide range of cleaning equipment across customer sites.
* Ensure all jobs are attended to and repairs are completed within the contracted service level agreement.
* Attend and complete all scheduled Portable Appliance Test (PA Test) calls on time.
* Maintain and control the highest standard of service and repair made to machinery.
* Ensure all Health and Safety rules and procedures are adhered to at all times.
* Follow all technician procedures issued and ensure they are fully understood.
* Update all jobs in real-time on our central database system, SERVICESMARTPro (SSP), and follow working procedures to ensure correct data is captured.
* Provide accurate and detailed reports upon every site visit to maintain integrity of asset data across our customer sites and on our system.
* Order parts via the system to complete breakdown calls.
* Book parts in/out to ensure van stock re-ordering levels are adhered to and parts are correctly replenished.
* Help develop more efficient systems of work and/or use any resultant change.
* Regularly review vehicle conditions and ensure it is kept tidy internally and externally to promote the quality brand.
* Attend company service and business review meetings.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:
* Engineer apprenticeship, vocational diploma, or equivalent is desirable.
* Interest in mechanical/electrical engineering is advantageous.
* Previous engineering work experience is preferred but not required.
* Full UK manual driving license is essential.
* Enthusiastic and positive demeanour with strong customer service skills.
* Effective communicator with excellent verbal and written abilities.
* Physically fit for manual handling tasks, including lifting industrial equipment.
* Capable of working independently and under pressure with self-motivation.
* Proficient in time management and prioritisation of workload.
* Attention to detail with good IT skills, including tablet usage.
* Flexible approach to work and willingness to adapt to changing requirements.
