We have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Manager to join a leading food solutions business with ambitious plans for sustainable growth.
Joining the Ambient Grocery Commercial team, the Commercial Manager will be a vital part of developing existing and future sales within the company and responsible for forming excellent customer relationships ensuring sales and profitability targets are successfully met.
THE ROLE:
1. Building strong relationships with key retail customers
2. Understanding categories and market trends
3. Undertaking bench-marking activities and carrying out gap analysis to suggest improvements to ranges
4. Working cross-functionally to coordinate category plans, regularly liaising with commercial, NPD, Technical, and Supply Chain
5. Liaising regularly with New Product Development to support innovative fresh concepts, maximizing market opportunities, and setting up new product launches/first production runs
6. Managing all aspects of customer promotional activities
7. Providing forecasts against actual for all internal stakeholders
8. Carrying out range reviews, providing thorough range analysis to improve sales
9. Providing reports to customers
SKILLS / BEHAVIOURS:
1. Experience of working in an FMCG commercial environment within an ambient food manufacturing context and with all major retailers
2. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
3. Proactive with strong leadership skills
4. Highly customer-focused
5. Flexible, motivated, driven, and ambitious
6. Proficiency in the use of MS Office
7. Full clean driving license
This exciting new role requires a confident, approachable individual with experience working with the top four multiples within an FMCG commercial environment. You must have considerable experience managing brands as well as knowledge of working within ambient grocery. You will be highly focused, motivated, and determined to win.
Your strong negotiation skills and previous experience influencing change will support you in building and maintaining long-term partnerships internally and externally. Your excellent communication skills will ensure you can engage with people at all levels and across functions, our partners, and our sites (UK and internationally). You will be resourceful, have strong organizational skills, and be extremely customer-focused, ensuring that the customer care provided is at the highest level possible.
Your ability to analyze and accurately interpret market and consumer data is essential; therefore, you should also be confident using advanced Excel and ideally already have an understanding of SAP. You will have excellent presentation skills, including PowerPoint, and pay great attention to detail. You will also be able to work consistently under pressure in a challenging environment. You will be required to travel to your customer hubs, sites that make your customer products, and your customers; therefore, a driving license is essential as is your flexibility.
