Job overview
Gresham 1 is a 20 bed, female ward based at The Bethlem Royal Hospital. As an inpatient mental health ward, we provide assessment, treatment and intensive nursing care for service users who live in the London Borough of Croydon. The South London and Maudsley (SLAM) NHS Trust works closely with other services both inside and outside of SLAM to ensure the best care outcome is achieved for every service user.
In this role, you will be part of an administrative team responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support to the multi-professional team.
Main duties of the job
1. Provide comprehensive administrative support to the multi-professional team with regards to the processing of clinical documentation, managing queries and data entry.
2. To deliver a high standard of customer care representative of the service and the overall Trust’s objectives.
3. Support the collection and updating of specific service-related information and activity to ensure required Key Performance Indicators (KPI) are input in a timely fashion onto required systems.
4. Assist with non-clinical processes which need to be undertaken in order to support clinical teams and the overall service deliver quality patient care.
5. Assist with the induction of new / temporary staff by requesting trust log in / keys / Trust ID's.
6. To work in a flexible and open manner in line with the needs of the service.
7. To participate in any training and developmental needs as required by the Business Manager / Team Manager.
8. Support with housekeeping duties including linen checks, ordering dry goods, logging maintenance issues and completing monthly environmental checks.
9. To ensure that patient information is kept up to date.

Currently, provide inpatient care for approximately 5,300 people each year and treat more than 45,000 patients in the community in Croydon, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark; as well as substance misuse services for residents of Bexley, Bromley and Greenwich.

Knowledge/Skills
* Experience in a responsible administrative / secretarial role
* Proven experience of office systems (including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
* Maintaining the quality and integrity of data
* Experience in minute taking
* Demonstrate the ability to produce/present documentation at a high standard
* NHS in house systems and databases
* Experience of working with mental health patients
