Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Activities assistant to join our team at a care home in the heart of the community. The ideal candidate will have a passion for enhancing the lives of residents through engaging and stimulating activities.
Duties
- Plan, organise, and oversee a variety of activities for residents, taking into account their individual needs and preferences
- Develop and implement a diverse activity programme that promotes physical, mental, and emotional well-being
- Coordinate outings, events, and entertainment to enrich the lives of residents
- Collaborate with care staff to ensure activities are inclusive and tailored to residents' abilities
- Maintain accurate records of activities and resident participation
Experience
- Previous experience in a similar role within a nursing home or assisted living environment
- Knowledge of senior care, dementia care, and best practices in enhancing quality of life for older adults
- Excellent communication skills to engage with residents, families, and staff
- Creative flair in designing innovative and enjoyable activities
- Qualifications in recreational therapy or a related field would be advantageous
