Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, are now recruiting for a Head of Projects to manage the execution and delivery of Engineering Projects across both our Staverton & Bishops Cleeve sites. About the role: You will report directly to the Director of Engineering and will manage a team of Project Managers, assigning portfolio of tasks and reviewing progress. You will be responsible for setting standards for internal processes and ensuring these are adequately documented within the Ontic Quality System. You will contribute directly to technical solution development where appropriate, in line with base technical skills and experience and will lead and direct assigned resources in the execution of engineering projects. You will work collaboratively with assigned customer facing Programme Managers and provide ‘lessons learned’ inputs to projects at the beginning of the project lifecycle. About you: You will have strong working knowledge of aircraft systems (mechanical & electrical) or similar products, including design lifecycle, verification and validation requirements, and production processes. You'll also have significant experience of managing product development through product qualification phases and into series production. You'll be a natural leader with proven success in managing and directing project teams. You'll have experience of using project management tools & techniques to manage costs and schedule (PRINCE2, Project Management Book of Knowledge). An appetite for diving continuous improvement initiatives is essential for this role.
