Do you care about empowering older people to live well? Do you want to join a not-for-profit organisation and make a real difference in the lives of older people?
About the Role
Being a Care Assistant isn’t something you do, it’s something you are, whether you have experience in care or not. Making a difference comes naturally. It’s going out of your way to brighten someone’s day, and making sure that absolutely everyone gets looked after the way you would like a loved one to be looked after. It is caring about the personal touches, from how your resident would like their tea to how they would like you to help them dress or what hobbies and interests they have that they would like to continue or even helping them to learn new ones!
We look for colleagues who possess good communication skills, are reliable, and can adapt to the needs of each resident. Valuing the small things which are important to each of our residents and their families is essential.
About Brendoncare
Brendoncare is a charity which provides a range of connected services for people in later life including care homes, extra care housing, community support services, and clubs across the South of England. We are people-driven, focusing on empowerment, inclusivity, and understanding.
What is Brendoncare Knightwood Like?

* Providing additional care and support as required when a resident is unwell or towards the end of life.

* Providing support and advice to residents’ families and friends, keeping them informed at an appropriate level with due regard to confidentiality.
* Working with the Activities Team to develop group and 1:1 activities that will be engaging and of interest to the residents.
* Liaising with other agencies as required in the interests of the resident, for example; GP, Social Services, Occupational Therapist, etc.
What Can We Offer?

* Free initial DBS check
