This is an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of our team working offshore in the Southern North Sea. Working within a team of multi-skilled technicians, you will be responsible for maintaining safety critical lifting equipment across any of our assets. Flexibility will be required as you could be working on a manned asset, Walk to Work or part of our intervention team. Ideally the successful individual will have experience of working with a variety of offshore cranes.
This position will work a 2/2 rotation mobilising out of Norwich.
Key Responsibilities:
• Responsibility to co-ordinate and communicate with external vendors, management, and the onshore Cranes & Lifting department to ensure the safe operation and day to day running of the asset cranes.
• Monitor lifting operations, to confirm compliance with LOLER, PUK and industry safety procedures.
• Perform scheduled mechanical maintenance on cranes and their ancillary items, winches, engine etc in accordance with approved maintenance routines.
• Be able to competently carry out / assist with larger mechanical maintenance scopes, winch change outs, hydraulic ram replacements, hydraulic hose changeouts etc.
• Perform unscheduled corrective maintenance on asset cranes.
• Ensure all safety critical activities are completed as laid down within the Maintenance Management System.
• Able to competently fault find mechanical issues, resolve issues and effecting the needed repairs.
• Complete crane mechanical inspections and inspection recording.
• Raising of corrective work orders & material request
• Be able to understand and interpret crane manuals and drawings.
• Monitor lifting equipment inventory and certification.
• Liaise with onshore Cranes & Lifting department.
Safety Critical Tasks:
Crane Hook Block/ Overhaul Ball Replacement
Comply with the competency requirements for carrying out Crane Hook book and Overhaul ball installation/replacement on our fleet of Cranes throughout SNS. Also, to carry out maintenance and inspection methods required in line with our Planned maintenance routines.
Crane Hydraulic/ Pneumatic Systems
Comply with the competency requirements for carrying out maintenance, trouble shooting and repair/ replacement of components to hydraulic/pneumatic systems on cranes.
Crane Mechanic/ Operator General
Comply with competency requirements for carrying out inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting and the repair/ replacement of components on our offshore cranes.
Crane Wire Rope
Comply with the competency requirements for carrying out wire rope installation/ replacement on our fleet of cranes throughout SNS. Also, to carry out maintenance and inspection methods required in line with our planned maintenance routines.
Cranes & Lifting – Rated Capacity Indicator
Ensure that the individual has a good technical knowledge of both the operation and functionality of a cranes Rated Capacity indicator.

• Crane Operator Stage 3 Assessment
• LOLER Supervisory
• MIPEG Crane Monitoring System Training
• OPITO Rigger Competence Stage 3 & 4
Skills & Experience Required:
• Certified mechanical background.
• Crane Competency Training (Stages 1-3) and have been assessed with Lifting Operations is preferred.
• A desire to work in a multi-tasking environment.
• Experience in the offshore/onshore Oil & Gas industry is essential.
• The individual must be self-motivated and a good team player.
• Knowledge of Hydraulic or Electrical will be beneficial.
