Egis Road Operations M40 Ltd are looking to speak to a Scheduling and Roadspace Coordinator.
The award-winning M40 motorway stretches for 123km and links London, Oxford and Birmingham. Since 2018 Egis has ensured the smooth operation and safety of the motorway for the 100,000+ vehicles that travel on it each day.
The Scheduler for the M40, reporting to the Lead Scheduler, will be responsible for maintaining the Planning sheet accuracy, creating Night works sheets for use by the operational teams, road space booking and sending out briefings to third parties, among other tasks. The Post holder will be computer literate and will utilise various pieces of software to produce and maintain records, create programmes of work, analyse network data, and liaise with 3rd parties.
Job Description
* Work with the rest of the planning team to devise daily/Monthly works programmes and book all required road space as required.
* Ensure the planning sheet is kept as accurate as possible at all times, for both day and night works.
* Create the Night works sheets with all relevant information, at least 1 month in advance.
* Input all cone times onto the planning sheet as dictated by the traffic flow data.
* Check all briefings for accuracy prior to sending to all sub-contractors.
* Review the Real-time sheet on a daily basis and relay any errors to the NCC and the Lead Scheduler.
* Check Network data for 3rd party activities and liaise accordingly.
* Ensure NEM’s compliance on works notifications.
* Liaise with Local Authorities, Police as required to obtain necessary consent for works.
* Liaison with third party contractors/Area teams to ensure all works are planned in accordance with the wider National Highways network.
* Promote and develop teamwork.
* Innovate and create new and better ways to complete works, whilst maintaining the safety of the team.
* To carry out such other related duties as may be required.
* Develop a good working relationship with our clients and partners.
* Apply HSE rules and comply with any internal rules in force in the company.
Profile
The successful candidate will need a keen eye for detail and a working knowledge of the national highways Network Event Management system. In addition, the candidate will also need knowledge of Traffic management layouts and a certain level of operational knowledge to ensure the works packages are scheduled with the correct timescales in mind.
Technical skills:
* Knowledge of the Roadspace booking process & the Network Event Management system.
* Good knowledge and understanding of the Microsoft Office package including Excel, Word and MS Projects.
Educational background and experience:
* A good level of education.
* Experience of working on a high-speed network an advantage.
* Experience of resource coordination.

This will be an office-based position with regular site visits along the highway.
