Social Worker - Children In Care Team - Salisbury, earning £36.54 Hourly. As part of the Children in Care Team, you will be instrumental in supporting the well-being and development of children and young people, enabling them to achieve positive life outcomes. This thrilling role includes managing a varied caseload and adhering to safeguarding standards in line with current legislation and council guidelines.
What you will do:
1. Undertake statutory duties for children in care, which include assessments, care planning, reviews, and permanency planning.
2. Build meaningful and supportive relationships with children and young people to understand their views, wishes, and feelings.
3. Collaborate with foster carers, birth families, health professionals, education providers, and multi-agency colleagues to secure the best outcomes for children.
4. Generate high-quality evidence-based reports necessary for child protection conferences, Looked After Children reviews, and court proceedings.
5. Ensure all children in care have up-to-date care plans and that their health, education, and emotional needs are effectively met.
6. Engage in team development, case discussions, and supervision with a focus on reflective and outcome-driven practice.
Requirements:
1. Qualified Social Worker with valid Social Work England registration.
2. Previous experience in a Children in Care, Looked After Children, or similar statutory social work team is essential.
3. Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989, Care Planning Regulations, and Working Together to Safeguard Children.
4. Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary setting and manage complex caseloads.
5. Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain).
6. Full UK driving licence and access to a car for work purposes.
