Everything You Need to Know Our Asset Strategy team has an exciting opportunity for you to join as an Asset Strategy Lead. For the role you will be the guiding mind behind our strategy to minimise the infiltration of ground water into the sewer network. The role is responsible for identifying, assessing and putting in place activities to reduce the inflow of ground water into sewers to improve the operational efficiency, environmental sustainability and regulatory compliance of the sewer network. Infiltration Monitoring, Assessment and Reporting Reviewing and improving the data capture strategy, modelling and analytics approach to enable data driven decision making. Developing performance metrics and optimise targets which can be used to set and track progress. Oversee a validation process which correlates physical inspections and assessments with modelling results. Infiltration Control Programme Develop, implement and manage programs designed to reduce and prevent the infiltration of ground water into the sewer system. Collaborate internally and externally to develop and assess a range of options and their associated costs and benefits, including the implementation of a rigorous challenge and assurance process. Ensure alignment with other long term waste strategies including drainage and waste water management plans and storm overflow reduction plans. Provide up to date guidance to internal teams and supply chain colleagues on infiltration management practices and techniques and drive innovation programmes to ensure we continue to learn. Secure Funding and Efficient Use of Customers Money Develop compelling business cases that set out investment needs in the context of the long term strategy and future uncertainty (such as the impacts of climate change). Manage and prioritise budgets. Set and manage efficiency metrics to track efficient delivery of investment What You’ll Bring to the Role To be successful, it’s expected you’ll have detailed knowledge and experience of waste water planning and UK legislation. You’ll also have the ability to interpret technical drainage options and communicate this to various parties at an appropriate level of details and work in a world of ambiguity, often to flexible and changing deadlines. Additionally, you’ll have experience of building effective working relationships with a diverse range of people from senior management to front line and able to successfully deliver on multiple commitments under pressure, understanding and applying a relevant level of quality to each piece of work.
