Our client has a current opportunity for a Production Press Operator to join their growing production team. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Inverness.
Reporting to the Shift Manager, the duties will include:
1. Operate and maintain all plant and machinery to expected standards in accordance with Health and Safety policy.
2. Maintain adequate records in conjunction with the Quality Assurance manual as required.
3. Monitor and control working area and carry out any maintenance and checks as required.
4. Monitor operating parameters of equipment and maintain an accurate log of abnormalities and report process interruptions to relevant personnel.
5. Monitor and control fire-fighting equipment in conjunction with fire team leader.
6. Monitor equipment ensuring Planned Maintenance is carried out as per manufacturer recommendations.
7. Effective communication with other Departments.
8. Actively assist in coordinating and developing hazard identification, risk assessment and creation of Safe systems of work for all tasks with the aim of developing a safe system of work for every task. Ensuring that the SSOW is used and reviewed as necessary should the task, method, or hazard change.
9. Ensure that operational EHS procedures are followed and all EHS incidents are reported.
Skills & experience:
1. Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
2. Qualified to Higher education level.
3. Has the ability to carry out Risk Assessments for all tasks required.
4. Displays compliance with all company policies and procedures.
5. Can assess and evaluate risk, contributes fully in monitoring, quality assurance and communicating risk assessment at operational level.
Please note that this role involves a rotation of shift patterns, including night shifts.
