To service designated meetings of Council, the Executive, Committees, other Member meetings and other bodies as required and undertake the necessary administrative work that supports the democratic process.
To assist as required the Head of Service, acting as Returning Officer, in the organisation of elections during the elections period.

1. Ability to work on own initiative with a minimum of supervision.
2. Ability to work under pressure and to meet frequent and tight deadlines whilst dealing with a wide range of matters.
3. Ability to grasp new ideas quickly and organise own workload.
4. Flexible approach to work and programming.
5. Ability to analyse data and present findings of research.
6. Well developed negotiating skills.
7. Ability to develop and maintain a wide range of contacts within and outside the council.
8. Ability to influence a wide range of internal and external people to achieve desired outcomes.
9. High standard of report and letter writing, with a good command of written English.
10. Ability to work outside normal office hours.
11. Needs to undertake outside visits on an occasional basis and to be able to attend meetings outside City Hall.
12. Good keyboard skills and ability to use a computer.
Qualifications:
Graduate level education or equivalent experience.
Evidence of continuing professional development.
