Job summary The Cancer Services Team at Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust has a vacancy for a Band 4 Multi Disciplinary Team Co-ordinator (MDTC) to join our existing team of MDT Co-ordinators working with the Gynaecology tumour site. This post is extremely varied, working across many departments within the hospital environment, and requires excellent communication skills with clinical, managerial and administrative staff. Note that there is minimal patient contact in this role. Main duties of the job To track and monitor suspected cancer referrals from receipt to treatment / non-treatment through daily PTL monitoring To co-ordinate Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) meetings ensuring all relevant patients and supporting information is available to the team to aid cancer pathway decision making and document outcomes during the meeting. To ensure that the MDT monitors, reports and manages all suspected and confirmed cancer cases in a timely and consistent manner against all National Cancer Waiting Times targets. To create, update and monitor accurate patient records on the Trust cancer register (Somerset) in accordance with the National Cancer Waiting Times manual and Cancer Outcomes and Services Dataset (COSD) requirements.
