Job summary:
Lyndon House is a Salvation Army Lifehouse located in Ipswich. The centre provides accommodation and support based on individual needs to 39 individuals who are experiencing homelessness. We need a committed and dynamic support worker with a passion to motivate and empower our clients to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
The role of the support worker with The Salvation Army is an inspirational one and is key to achieving successful outcomes for clients. As a motivated and dynamic Support Worker you will be responsible for developing and delivering a high-quality programme of support which promotes client choice and control. You will address client support needs, enable them to achieve positive life changes and ultimately empower them to lead more sustainable lifestyles.
The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:
•Level 3 qualification in a related field or willingness to work towards it
•Knowledge of the main support needs which are commonly faced by homeless clients
•Knowledge and an understanding of the benefits system
•A positive attitude and motivation towards supporting vulnerable clients
•Good written and verbal communication skills
•Good team working skills
•Proficient in a range of IT packages including Microsoft
